Electron spectrum and dielectrification in oxide layers
Abstract
A model of the electron spectrum of quasi-two-dimensional substances with substrates of oxide origin is proposed. The model is of interest in clarifying a contradiction connected with certain high-temperature superconductors (e.g., La2CuO4 and YBa2Cu3O6), namely, that according to band calculations they should be metals but in experiments they have been demonstrated to have dielectric properties. A way to resolve this contradiction is suggested.
